Places to stay locally

Many people visit us when they are already staying in the area for their holidays, but others might be looking for just a couple of nights, for example, to attend one of our numerous workshops and events.

We are slowly building up a list of AirBnB properties locally which you might like to investigate. Both the owners below are friends of ours and we can be sure that they will give you an excellent welcome

If you have a local Bed and Breakfast or AirBnB and would like to be on this list, then please drop us a line and we’ll come and chat.

At the bottom of our road, just up from the grey telephone box, is Black Mountains Hideaway. Owner Alex Yorke says

“Guests can contact me directly on this email aijyorke@gmail.com for best rates mentioning ‘Nant y Bedd’ in the subject line.

Black Mountains Hideaway is tucked behind yet private from our 300 year old family-occupied farmhouse in the National Park. Sugarloaf views abound. We can accommodate two people and have two bedrooms.  The room below is a ‘sunroom’ but has glorious views of the ‘Loaf’. Perfect for couples – relax in the freestanding bath in the double bedroom and curl up on the sofa in the sunroom with the comfort of the woodburner and a good book“ https://www.airbnb.co.uk/rooms/921342

A little further away on the outskirts of Abergavenny, Mary B has two options

‘I am doing Airbnb in my Annex at Chapel Farmhouse. Its minimum stay is 2 nights and can be let to sleep 4 people or 2 people. In 2022 I was one of four finalists in the UK Airbnb Host awards in the category of most sustainable host. It is within walking distance of Abergavenny town centre and station. Here are the links;

For somewhere a bit more formal, although with a lovely relaxed atmosphere, is the ‘4 Silver Star’ Angel Hotel. Located in the centre of the thriving town of Abergavenny, just 25 minutes from Nant y Bedd, the Angel is the ‘must stay’ hotel in the area. Add in The Angel’s sister property, the Michelin starred Walnut Tree restaurant and a superb stay is on the cards.

Mention Nant y Bedd Garden when booking and they will endeavour to give you a complimentary room upgrade.

Another, very local, option is the Black Mountains Bolthole (below) owned by Helen and Andrew. Just a few yards from the bottom of our road, we’ve had many visitors to the garden from their visitors, all of whom have said how lovely it is. Check it out here.
